I agree with much of what TiredandDeadInside said about Ian and even Soleite. Why are they making completely irrational decisions? At least Soleite seems to have a somewhat valid reason, but how the hell did Ian make it up the Knights Templar (except perhaps cronyism) without an ounce of intelligence? Yes, I understand he's traumatized, but trauma alone does not impair intelligence all around. How insulting to people who do try to live their best lives despite their trauma.

Also, when did Ian fall for Soleite? After a few but, granted, meaningful days, Ian is in love with Soleite, unbeknownst to himself?

I will keep reading in hopes that the story lives up to its hype.

Update: I have reached C. 51 and am wondering if I have it in me to force myself to get through C. 52, which I've begun multiple times. Ian frustrates the heck out of me with his unfounded suspicions and lack of critical thinking.

Sol has treated you well all the way through. People of Archaia welcome you. The cardinal has made you feel wretched all your life. People of Derwin would have preferred to have your neck. Hmm... Who truly cares about you? The people who appreciate you as you are or people who say you fundamentally damned. And why distrust the one person who has shown you unflagging faith? And why has Sol all of sudden ceased to be communicative?

In case anyone brings up the imprinting business, citing imprinting as a justification OR even Ian's trauma as driving every one of his decisions implies that Ian has absolutely zero agency. And he behaves as such, which is why I find this manhwa frustrating.

Only 71 chapters in, and I love it. Other people have have clearly already explained what it's about, so I won't do that. I just absolutly love this BL because all of the cute moments, and how that main couple do really care for each other. And historical and fantasy BL are two of my favorite genres, so this was a total deal. I was a bit disappointed when i waited 46 CHAPTERS... and got no yaoi. But whatever, the rest of the story makes up for it.

Okay, though... I have to admit, I have to get this outta my head... I love the art style... But their mouths! The mouths can annoy me sooo much. I just.. don't like the way their drawn? Yeah. The rest of the art is killer, though.

I just binged this to the current chapter 82 in a single day, lol (and now waiting for this to return from hiatus). Love it, and definitely recommend to anyone who is interested in fantasy BL. At first I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't yaoi (I love some good action from time to time), but this was still well worth checking out as the art is beautiful and the moments of intimacy we do get is tasteful and gorgeous.

My impressions are pretty similar to @Mimi201's, so I won't spend too much time repeating what they said, but I think the pacing for the 2 seasons that are completed right now was superb. Some readers might feel that that ML Ian spends a little too much time agonizing over his personal issues in season 1, or that there's too much exposition in season 2 about how the humans Ruadrach created developed as a society...

This is a really good and emotionally engaging story, but wow is MC (Ian) a dummy. Suffering from the annoying miscommunication tropes of many BL. His thoughts based on insecurity are amplified by the echo chamber of his mind, so he ends up believing whatever fears he has about his relationship and situation. ML isn't much better since he can tell something is wrong, but instead of addressing the issue, decides to withhold information to save MC from emotional pain. Ugh.

    But everything else is great.

    Ian's a fucking idiot. Wow.

He had a way to contact "Jack" but refused. I can't stand characters like this. I mistook him for an action oriented dude but he just goes and does EVERYTHING "Jack" or that blond Cardinal says with zero attempt at intelligent self agency.

Even that last bit of saving "Jack" by jumping out of the wagon was stupid beyond belief. Even after being told his magic can do pretty unbelievable stuff like MAKING PHYSICAL OBJECTS or obscure things and so on and so forth he just keeps doing dumb shit instead of proactively training his abilities so he'd know what he's capable of.

Like, if "Jack" can change his own appearance then so can Ian, and so many things can be fixed with just being clever with his abilities. He's a disguised damsel in distress! So useless! The worst part is it's not even his fault. It's the writer's! It's so frustrating when characters have awesome potential in these dynamic premises but are written horribly so their character growths never happen. Ugh.

If you are looking for a very plot focused series where the two main couple (Ian and Soleite) slowly get together and show care for each other throughout the series then please read this lovely manhwa. Political tension between two kingdoms(?) plays a key plot role throughout the series. The art is phenomenal, the story has depth, the characters are memorable and I love their character designs.

The main protagonists (and technically the Cardinal) are linked with each because of a major reason that is revealed later in the second part of Season 1.

I love that reincarnation is how they are related to each other between them three and why Cardinal Brixton is obsessed with Ian and has tension with Soleite

The part 1 of season 1 is focused more on Ian's and Soleite's meeting and their feelings developing for each other, exploring the 'curse' that Ian has and dealing with the issue of the kidnappings. But also the first arc explores the Cardinal who is more than meets the eye, where the story slowly reveals that he cares for Ian deeply because of reasons (big spoiler).

Part 2 Season 1 seems to focus heavily on how the three main protagonists are related to each other. More emphasis is given on how Ian and Soleite relationship and the reason why they are linked to each other (I like the fact that end couple is clear. It's not really a love triangle between the three).

I am only 30 chapters in but I know that it's going to be one of my favorites.

Edit: Do check out the authors previous story 'The Sweetest Man'.
