Translation is confusing, pacing is worse. Random weird child is a medical genius and no one wonders how or why, they just let him cut people up. This child also knows things no one should know and it causes no issues.
I wasn't a huge fan. It has its moments, but the politics between the clinics didn't interest me in the least. I also felt the MC was far too naive for a fully-educated adult. I'm giving this a lower score largely due to its ambiguous nature. The bishounen men and the underlying homosexuality between the MC and the master turned me off from the manhwa. There was one moment where the MC talks about his master being more handsome than another man followed by a weird frame where he's gazing in wonder at him. Even if it's not a romance, I'm not interested. This author and artist both have previous works(yaoi/shoujo/genderbend/reverse harem) that make me question what direction this manhwa will take in the future. Maybe I'm wrong about it, but hopefully this review will prepare others for what to expect.
In my top 5 of favorite webtoons for sure.
It's not taking medicine serious like some manga I know of.
It's more a "cultivator doctor" story with wholesome relationships and characters who really care for each other - not romance though.
Pretty drawings too.
Please disregard the comment made by MondSemmel, as it was made prematurely. In fact, it’s just complete bull. So what if there is cultivation? Did you forget this is a Murim Manga? And cultivation really isn’t bad at all when it’s done correctly. This series is so interesting and unique, and reading it makes me happy. At this point in the story (chap 44) there really hasn’t been much action, but the story is still really exciting and I really can’t wait to see where it goes. Additionally I love the way the author approaches the problem of how the MC introduces and practices modern medicine 1. Without modern medications and machines 2. In a completely Qi and alternative medicine reliant society. I also love the relationship between the MC and his master, it makes me so happy haha. Like I said. I really can’t wait to see where this goes and I’m so sad there’s no light novel!
This is one of those series in which the name and synopsis both imply that it's ostensibly about something interesting (here: medicine), but then most of its time is devoted to cookie-cutter cultivation stuff instead.
