    Shinra and Sho weren't born with doppelganger, they show up when the collective have an assumed idea of you, some people viewed Shinra as a bad ass, others viewed sho as dead or not existing so his doppelganger probably been cut from existence too.

    I first read this a few years back and stopped around the end of volume 1, it felt... overly "hopeless".

    Just finished, to finally take it out of my mind and have to say... better than I thought, I totally see why it got canceled like I said it is overly "hopeless" and it leans well into it, which makes you feel sad.

    But the funny thing is that after some time you can see something more to it behind all the cynicism, a tone of hope.

    I think that even having the rushed end because of the axe, I fully think this was the finale planned by the author, it just feels too right for the story.
