Really really good
totally disagree with that "annoying female lead" tag
I love it and everything about it - the art, the pacing, the subject (first encounter with this art, but it definitely prompted me to look more into it!).
writing about a subject that is not familiar to wide audience is not easy but Akane-Banashi has been successful in a way Hikaru no Go attracted me to Go. In a way, it has done better cause unlike Go where you can hype losing/ winning, there's no actual winning or losing in doing a Rakugo, so it does takes creativity to both present Rakugo and have the characters perform it in a such way that makes it looks great. So far Akane-Banashi has done just that and I have been intrigued to learn more about the story.
Edit: it is actually better than I initially thought. It has the vibes of Bakuman going on as they describe the story being told with the rakugo in such way that really gets you into it. It is such a fascinating duet of artist/ author you find here, the story itself is fascinating, but the way it is drawn is perfect, they complete each other.
