What a twist

I think this is the best direction this series could’ve gone considering the destruction brought about by the first boruto series. Barring the alien otsusuki bullshit and shibai abilities two blue vortex feels smaller in scale and more intimate than even shippuden which I would argue ruined the ninja setting and power scale of og naruto. Pretty good stuff all things considered, Boruto is badass and competent without feeling like a Gary Stu unlike naruto for 80% of his manga

Kawaki did what the author should have done ages ago: removing Naruto from the main story to keep him from getting nerfed and becoming Boruto's dad.

If Kawaki hadn't done this, it's totally possible that Naruto would've interfered in their fight and died while speaking some cheesy dad lines.

Would be a better manga if there were any reason whatsoever for any character besides the protagonist to exist.  He's SO strong and SO clever and SO powerful and SO talented at magic he just makes everyone else look like a joke.  He has better technology, but he's STILL better at swordplay and fighting and magic than anyone else even if you take it away.  I guess that fulfills that teenage wish fulfillment power fantasy niche but it makes for such a boring, unengaging story.  He's not merely BETTER than everyone, he distinctly prevents them from ever even getting to do anything.  "Oh, there's 30 bandits/orc generals over that hill?  Ok, I'll kill everyone single one myself simultaneously in 5 seconds.  Wow, you're surprised I could do that? I don't understand! Haha how awkward".  He might as well put the whole rest of the world in a birdcage, since he's just going to solve every threat and not allow anyone to participate or grow as characters.
