not a very hot take: Ren is not a character but a drama tool, meaning you insert him in a scene to cause drama. all of his opinions/flaws could have been split among different characters if the writer was good. but he doesnt DARE give his characters flaws and depth, so he focuses all that into ren. turning him into a drama tool, and what a tool he is lol.
