Downer endings are one thing but pointless downer are another. Like the author went out of his way to twist the logic of the story to end this way. Like really, there's no good reason why the characters can't risk having a relationship. Nazuna MIGHT die even though she was never human? I mean come on, the convoluted nature of vampirism in this manga was only the worst part about it and banking all the emotional drama on it was a poor decision.
