On the other hand, learning the basics of how to use a weapon is available to a wider array of people from a younger age. Of course having someone train you properly will always be a help, but even in backwater towns it's possible to at least learn the basics how how to use a spear, bow, sword, axe, etc... just because out of necessity (hunting, defending the town, chopping wood, etc...) and at least some of the skills would translate over. And of course, when it comes to physicality, men have a hard advantage in this area.

Plus, just because the average woman is better than the average man at magic, doesn't mean there aren't men who can't be prodigies at magic. Just like how Julina is a female prodigy with the sword and is well above the average swordsman, there would undoubtedly be males who excel at magic above the average woman.
