Love, Love, Love!
This manga was an absolute joy to read! I managed to finish it within a few days whenever I had some free time.
The story revolves around a romantic love triangle involving a male teacher, a female student, and a female idol who turns out to be a guy.
There are some surprising plot twists that genuinely caught me off guard, especially concerning the teacher and the student.
I don't want to give away too much, even though I'm tempted to. Your task is to dive right in and start reading this manga immediately. You'll be hooked from chapter one, and I promise you won't regret it!!!!
Story: 8
The story doesn't have anything particularly special about it. It's a typical manga revolving around student life, mixed with media attention, jealous female students with raging hormones, a cousin who wants to be seen as an adult, and a guy who saves the day. It’s another shoujo manga. But somehow, after finishing this manga, I wasn't really satisfied because I wanted the story to continue. I fell in love with the overused plot and couldn't put the book down. Throughout the manga, the author includes side notes talking about her current addictions. Although there isn't any 'breaking the fourth wall' among the characters—a method I enjoy—she still manages to connect with the reader and comes across as very humble. The story layout is simple and carefree, making it an easy read without much intensity. It's a rather relaxing piece of work.
Art: 9
I'm not overly particular about most art in mangas. My main concern is how well the mangaka differentiates one character from another, which she has done very well, especially with Izumi’s features. There are clear distinctions where Hikaru is drawn as the male component while Izumi is depicted as the female component, which breaks many shoujo manga clichés.
Character: 10
The characters are incredibly lovable. You really want to root for their love. Kudos to the mangaka for creating a lead female character who is strong and isn't a dependent, annoying, air-headed girl like those found in many shoujo mangas. I truly appreciate her silence. You could say that the roles of the characters are switched because both portray personalities of the opposite gender. Izumi is seen as more feminine while Hikaru is a strong opinionated male. However, both characters’ feminine and masculine sides are very well balanced.
Enjoyment: 10
I absolutely love gender benders not because of the comedy but because of the vulnerability of the characters and the extreme measures they take when their secret is threatened. (This only happened twice.) Another reason is because we, the readers, aren’t left in the dark about their genders being kept a secret, which really keeps us interested. (That’s why I dropped Girl Meets Girl.) Getting caught up in the whole mess just makes you want more.
Overall: 8
This manga loses points on originality, but when it comes to gender benders, I honestly just wanna see them make out (I’m a little biased since I didn’t get to see more than a kiss), hide their secrets, and fool everyone (suckers). This manga provides a more valid reason for someone to switch genders than most others, which might make sense. I liked how the author ended it but gave it an '8' because I want MORE of it. I want to see everyone’s reactions, but that would ruin the sweetness of it. I guess it's up to my imagination to satisfy my craving.

lol I love this phrase
I searched tirelessly for this manga and finally found it. Once I started reading, I was so engrossed that I finished it in a single day. I believe the reason I enjoyed it so much is because it isn't overly dramatic. The main character is straightforward, funny, and endearing without being annoying. It's not one of those shoujo mangas where the female lead is foolish with dreams of ruling the world. The male lead is full of pride yet kind and caring at the same time.
The story is simple and easy to follow, not too complicated or troublesome. It's humorous, and even the supporting characters are likable and cool. Another aspect I appreciated was its focus on bullying. While it's not an entirely original topic, as many other mangas also tackle it, this one handles it well without excessive drama. It presents a realistic situation showing how far jealousy can drive someone.
The key takeaway is that reading this manga is enjoyable because it never gets boring, and each chapter offers something new. So, if you have some free time, you should definitely give this manga a read. You won't regret it.
Let me start by saying this is a very lighthearted manga! I enjoyed it because it was such a relaxing read. It's perfect for unwinding after reading some intense manga, haha.
The plot overall follows a typical shojo storyline. There's a girl who falls in love, and so on, but it doesn't drag like many other shojo manga usually do, which was incredibly refreshing. That's why I say it's a very chill read. The story progresses smoothly and is generally cute. The manga doesn't have much depth, so it goes by quickly.
There is a somewhat serious subplot, but it isn't integrated deeply into the main story. This can be seen as either a positive or negative aspect, depending on your perspective. Since I was looking for something simple, it satisfied my needs. However, that's likely why I wouldn't give it a 10/10. The plot honestly lacked depth, and sometimes the characters' reactions to situations felt a bit unnatural. But since I wasn't expecting much from the beginning, I was okay with it.
In the end, I would recommend this only if you're not looking for something with great depth and just want a light-hearted read.
This is an adorable gender-bending manga set in the world of idols and entertainment. Both leading characters are incredibly likable, and while there are plenty of supporting characters, they are easy to follow and keep track of.
I noticed that each volume progresses smoothly but always ends on a satisfying note, avoiding overly suspenseful cliff-hangers. The main storyline revolves around Hikaru and Izumi's relationship as rivals. Over time, they come to tolerate each other, become friends, and eventually realize their love for one another.
Izumi’s androgynous appearance was very distinctive. It reminded me of Yellow Belmont from Genesis Climber Mospeada. His look was highly convincing and beautifully illustrated. He was my favorite character throughout the series.
I highly recommend this title to anyone interested in gender-bender stories similar to W-Juliet or Never Give Up.
This has become my new favorite manga. I read the first chapter online and was so hooked that I bought the rest of the volumes.
The story is a genuinely sweet romance, not written in childish terms (like "I like you, do you like me?"). The author lets the love between the two main characters evolve, develop, experience jealousy, and flicker throughout the series. I appreciated how thoughtful the author was to keep the romance of high school kids from becoming overly adult. Each volume leads seamlessly into the next, making it incredibly addictive to keep reading. The storyline shares similarities with "W-Juliet" and "Never Give Up." It provides many entertaining situations but isn't based on them, unlike "W-Juliet." This story focuses on the development and love life of a girl who lacks self-worth and how the boy she loves helps her stand proudly on her own. There isn't much humor, so if you're looking for comedy, this one isn't for you. It's a wonderful romance read, not too heavy on drama, light but substantial with some occasional PG-13 moments. I absolutely loved it.
