Subarashii Sekai

Twenty-three-year-old Yuriko Togawa left college six months ago. Previously, her classmates viewed her as dependable and self-reliant, though she perceived herself quite differently. Yuriko desires someone to cater to her needs rather than the other way around. Consequently, when she reconnects with her former colleague Horita Tomotsugu, she hopes romance will blossom between them. Horita once dreamed of launching his band with Yuriko. Over time, however, he faced reality and became an office worker. Meeting Yuriko stirs memories of his past aspirations, and he wishes to reignite those dreams with her. Despite their differing motivations, Yuriko agrees to assist him after a series of events. Yuriko and Horita's story is one of many compelling narratives in "Subarashii Sekai." Their tale intertwines with several other short stories, each portraying the challenging, painful, and realistic struggles of everyday life. "Subarashii Sekai" was released in English as "What a Wonderful World!" by VIZ Media under the VIZ Signature imprint on October 20, 2009. The series has also been published in French by Kana; in German by Egmont Manga & Anime and Tokyopop; in Portuguese by JBC; and in Spanish by Norma Editorial.
