Hotori Arashiyama is your typical high school girl, assuming "typical" can encompass an avid fascination with detective novels and a job at a maid cafe to settle a huge debt from years of enjoying "free" curry. Outside her work hours, she enjoys spending time with friends, looking after her younger siblings, or playfully vexing her math teacher. Despite living a mostly ordinary teenage life, Hotori frequently encounters the paranormal and unexplained. Her daily activities are interspersed with supernatural events—such as an unplanned tour of Heaven, finding a ray gun that creates giant holes, and inadvertently getting involved in an alien dispute. She also spontaneously delves into intriguing cases, such as deciphering the true purpose behind some paintings in a will, identifying a mysterious man around the hospital, and embarking on a treasure hunt in a distant village. Despite these strange occurrences, life in town continues as usual. "And Yet, The Town Moves" garnered the Excellence Award in the Manga Division at the 17th Japan Media Arts Festival in 2013. In 2018, it received the Seiun Award for Best Comic and ranked 20th in Kono Manga ga Sugoi! for Male Readers. The series was published digitally in English as "And Yet, The Town Moves" by Crunchyroll. It was also available as "SoreMachi: And Yet the Town Moves" by Shonen Gahosha through Manga Planet from May 20, 2020, to May 26, 2021. GP Publishing released the first three volumes in Italian from June 23, 2012, to October 20, 2012.
