This is the tale of Takeru Tachibana, a teenage boy on a mission to rescue his sister Sayoko from a brutal "cyborg dogfight circuit." When Takeru was just 10, his town suffered an enemy air-raid that claimed the lives of his parents and left him with life-threatening injuries. Overwhelmed by "survivor's guilt" and unable to cope with living alone, Sayoko made the desperate decision to sell her brain to Albion Corporation, led by the enigmatic Véltare Marçéau, to fund a risky surgery for Takeru.
Her brain was then transferred into a cybernetic body, a process that erased her memories and heightened her aggression. Reborn as The White 13, or "The Ice Doll," she fought in gladiatorial matches on the dogfight circuit, eventually becoming the grand champion and earning the rank of "sirius."
The story unfolds shortly after Takeru has freed Sayoko from the circuit. He soon discovers that outside this environment, Sayoko's brain has a "self-destruct" mechanism, and she is dying. Takeru has one week to find a cure for his sister or return her to the circuit, or she will perish. Complicating matters are the relentless efforts of Albion Corporation to reclaim their property, along with a cast of characters, each bearing their own scars.
"Sirius no Kizuato" was digitally published in English as "Cicatrice the Sirius" by Media Do International/Beaglee from November 7 to December 12, 2017.
