Attended by children of nobility, the prestigious Souseikan Academy offers two primary courses—the lord and lady class, and the butler class, often referred to as the L class and B class respectively. After losing her parents, Ryou Himura is enrolled into the L class by her grandparents, who hail from a once-renowned but now declining family.
On her first day, Himura gets lost on campus and meets Hakuou Kanzawa, a well-liked student from the butler class. Unfamiliar with school customs, she introduces herself in an unconventional way, making a strong impression on Hakuou. Intrigued by her, they form a friendship that draws the envy of other girls.
Despite inadvertently making enemies, Himura remains determined to achieve her goals and starts learning the intricacies of becoming a lady, guided by her new friend.
