God has been absent for some time, and the angels in heaven have concluded it's necessary to find a successor. Despite their reluctance, the angel Rain is selected as one of the four candidates to be considered for the role of the next God. Rain and the other candidates will descend to Earth for a year to undergo a test that will evaluate their suitability for this position. Each candidate has the ability to reveal their true identity to one human on Earth.
Thus, Shirou Natsume, an ordinary high schooler aspiring to become a teacher, is chosen by the angel Rain to assist. For the test, Rain and Shirou must nurture a "baby," devoid of thoughts or emotions, into a being as close to human as possible.

This gets REALLY good REALLY quick.
Yes, it is a power fantasy, but it is done right.
The "mechanics" of the fantastical powers mixing with politics are surprisingly well done and interesting, and the fights are just awesome.
And... it is surprisingly funny too, it does take itself seriously but not to the detriment of the characters' personalities.
Always betray in fantasy/isekai
Always get stolen in doujin
Aways forgotten/non existent in shounen
