Life did not treat that man well if he's the same age as the mc. That dude looks like a 35 year old dad of 3. Also I' glad it was 3 chapters because each individual chapter was a pretty lackluster return to this great series with the 3rd chapter being he best.

its shown multiple times that she was sympathetic only before having her thoughts clouded by the swarm, she is her human self but once the swarm takes over she becomes rash and evil. once the swarm takes over near the end she loses all sympathy

It was interesting for a while, but that .. ending?? It's hard to call it that when it has zero closure or felling to it. That ending is by far, the worst ending I've ever read. Bad endings are still endings. This is like reading a book all the way up to just before the final battle, only to turn the page and see "The End".
