okay, so to sum it up, this manga is like harem genre where the boy mc have multiple female around him who want to eff him, but here the harem are powerflul demon and instead have sex, they want to devour the mc..

There's 2 (eventually 3) timelines at play. Spoilers

- Past Kids
- Kiruko; Maru
- Post Heaven kids (pretty much all of them are dead by now)

Maru's journey begins with Mikura who's actually been dead and was taken over by the original director of the academy before he met her (similar to Kiruko). Like all of the kids, she eventually succumbs to her Hiruko core and dies. Before that she hires Kiruko to finish Maru's journey to find heaven. Maru's job is to find his mom Tokio and clone/brother and inject them with the syringes Mikura gave them as they're more than likely the cure to the Hiruko illness.

Any Hiruko that you see here was once a student of the academy. That's just their inevitable final form.

Hagi is how people would actually act if they had a  crush. It is annoying to see him struggle woth being upfront with his feelings. But,it's annoying because of how relatable he is.
