Anime is great for hitting a lot of the main plots so you can progress quickly without the fluffs, but personally the worldbuilding is what makes the series for me and the manga does that much, much better.  It makes those crucial moments (like Naval) with much more impact because of character developments.  The anime skipped past too much and you're left wondering "who's this chump again?"

wait, on page 33, all those little kids... did Negi go the harem route in this timeline? Kind of sad that Kirie got screwed over and had her immortality taken away so she couldn't be with everyone at the end. Over all not as good as Negima but still pretty good.
