In the 21st century, aliens have arrived on Earth and now live among humans. In the quiet town of Enohana, Chigasaki Mayuko, a student living in poverty, finds herself sharing her home with NieA, an alien from a low caste known as "Under Seven". While Mayuko works hard to make ends meet, NieA appears indifferent to the outcomes of her actions. As this unlikely pair interacts, their relationship sparks unexpected developments.
