I imagine, (from their perspective) pregnancy and romance being a hindrance in cultivation and training. Or some old tradition or rule from a past heartbreak. Something along those lines.

it's more that anytime there's an antagonist that is super muscular or a monster that's oversized they always end up being a literal jobber, plus how frieza and buu final forms are deceptively weak looking compared to previous forms
also Goku/Trunks are relatively muscular but they're not what I'd call ''super tough looking''
I don't know if he's evil!!! Don't be a mature story with ambiguous characters who all have their personal wants and needs!
Gimme a simple villain, some true companions and some tiddies while you're at it and not that serious stuff about consequences, sacrifice, guilt and responsibilities...
