ALRIGHT!!!...SO I LOVE THIS MANGA!...It is VERY similar to other mangas (such as Inuyasha) but DO NOT BE FOOLED...This manga is FAR BETTER than Inuyasha...:)...Well...I love Inuyasha but I LOVE LOVE Mugen Spiral...:)
Story: So I gave the story a 10. The story is about a Demon named Ura who comes to the human world to try to gain a girl's powers to become stronger...(at least that is what we are led to believe in the beginning...;])...ANYHOW...The story is cute, filled with romance, exciting fighting scenes, humor, and things that will overall make your heart flutter...:)...It is a good story and it is an absolute GREAT read.
Art: So art is a 9...I really don't mind the art on this manga...The art is in fact GREAT...it is drawn pretty darn well...:)...I like it...:P
Characters: THIS IS A 10...unlike Inuyasha and most mangas like it, I wasn't annoyed by a SINGLE CHARACTER in this manga...Yayoi is thoroughly able to be independent, she is not whiny nor is she like the typical heroine. She is strong and she is able to stand alone and take care of herself and THAT is what is the BIG difference between Mugen Spiral and Inuyasha. All the characters in this are strong, they can all be funny, cute, and they are absolutely overall FANTASTIC...NONE of them are annoying in ANY way...:)
Enjoyment: 10!!! 10 ALL THE WAY!!!...I LOVE LOVE this manga...in fact, as soon as I was done reading it the first time...I read it again...IMMEDIATELY...:)...Everything about this Manga is great and I THOROUGHLY, ABSOLUTELY enjoyed it. I couldn't stop reading it, I read both volumes in about 2 hours (more or less), and I just ate up the pages...:)...FANTASTIC...:)
Overall: I Give this manga a 10. Even though it is not really an original story, it is nonetheless FANTASTIC...read this if you haven't and don't expect it to be like ANYTHING YOU HAVE EVER READ OR SEEN...:) The concept may be the same as other mangas but that is pretty much where the similarities end...:)...I can't get enough of Mugen Spiral and I want MORE...:)...in fact, my ONLY problem with it is that there are only 12 chapters!!!...:)
I desperately want to rate this manga a perfect 10/10, but I simply can't. The story started with an intriguing hook, and both the artwork and characters were excellent, yet it lacked a satisfying conclusion. It's evident that the mangaka either abandoned the project or lost interest, as evidenced by the introduction of a plot twist involving new characters near the end. This manga had immense potential, making its unfinished state all the more disappointing.
HOWEVER, this doesn't mean that the existing story isn't worth reading. Despite leaving us with unanswered questions, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It's highly improbable that it will ever be remade after such a long hiatus, but I hold out hope that someday I'll find the answers to my lingering questions!
The plot has been fairly well-covered, but I wanted to chime in with a quick caution: this story wraps up without any resolution. It feels like the manga was abruptly discontinued, leaving every thread hanging. This tale ends mid-stride. Up until that point, it's superb. It holds immense potential, is enjoyable and engaging, featuring excellent artwork and characters. However, you WILL feel cheated by the "ending." Weeks after reading, I'm still perplexed.
Just thought I'd give everyone a heads-up before diving in. It truly is a rewarding read - just one that takes an unexpected nosedive at the end.
This manga has the potential to score between an 8 and a 10. I rated its story, art, characters, and enjoyment as 8s, but I can't give it a higher overall rating primarily due to the ending. The narrative is genuinely compelling, and the characters are quite endearing; the sole issue lies with the conclusion, which, in my opinion, barely qualifies as an ending. It feels like the mangaka chose to wrap things up abruptly when there was so much more that could have been explored within the storyline. The abruptness of the ending was truly jarring!
It's a worthwhile read, but be cautious about becoming too invested, or else the ending might drive you to search for the mangaka just to shake her until she agrees to continue and deliver a satisfying conclusion. :)
This manga can be best described as disappointing. It begins with a bang, weaving together an engaging plot, humor, and blossoming romance that captivates and maintains the reader's interest. The artwork is visually appealing, and the characters are endearing, suggesting it could have been a solid 9 or 10 rating. However, inexplicably, it lacks a proper conclusion. This isn't about a weak or unsatisfactory ending; rather, it seems as if the mangaka simply lost interest in continuing the series and abruptly labeled the last worked-on chapter as "finished." Numerous questions remain unanswered, including a promising plot twist left unexplored and intriguing characters introduced near the end with no explanation due to the sudden halt. Overall, the abrupt ending severely undermines what could have been a much more remarkable manga.
I found myself thoroughly enjoying every moment of this manga... to the point where I felt compelled to write a review! This truly is a must-read for everyone... it made such an impression on me. I've reread this manga multiple times and wish I could purchase it... that's how much I adore it. You see, it's quite challenging to come across a manga... or even an anime... with a plot involving demons and romance that's genuinely excellent, so I have to say this is one of the finest. Sure, it might be somewhat predictable at times, but aside from that, it was absolutely AWESOME! Full stars for this one.
