A highly popular sword and sorcery shounen series, blending elements of Japanese mythology with futuristic themes. According to ancient legend, the evil emperor Miroku is destined to be overthrown by a young hero who will also open the gateway connecting the human world to the mythical land of Agalta. Fearing this prophecy, when Miroku's son was born with extraordinary powers, the infant was dismembered into eight parts, which were distributed among Miroku's eight evil generals for safekeeping. The baby was then cast into a river but was fortunately rescued by Tatara, who named him Madara and provided him with artificial limbs.
Madara grew up alongside a girl named Kirin. At age 15, he received the legendary sword Kusanagi and was tasked with retrieving his real body parts. Throughout his journey, Madara uncovers the truth about his father, his lineage, and his own abilities.
