Momoko hails from a family of witches where most female members have magical powers. However, they can only display these abilities to "the one"—their soul mate or spouse. The more magic Momoko uses in front of others, the more her body starts to transform into cat-like features, such as cat ears and whiskers. If anyone discovers her true identity, she will turn entirely into a cat—just like her mother did. Momoko joined the magic club at her school and has been using her powers frequently. As a result, her cat ears occasionally appear, and she needs to find "the one" quickly. Her potential matches are already becoming suspicious.
