Mirumo de Pon!

Kaede is a cheerful and energetic eighth grader who becomes hopelessly shy around boys. One day, while walking home from school, she enters a mysterious shop and purchases a colorful cocoa mug. Upon arriving home, Kaede idly checks the bottom of the mug and finds an engraved note. It reads, "If you read this message aloud while pouring hot cocoa into the mug, a love fairy ('muglox') will appear and grant your every wish." Despite her skepticism, Kaede's curiosity gets the better of her, and she follows the instructions, wishing to date Yuuki, the class heartthrob. Suddenly, an adorable blue creature named Mirumo appears! Mirumo, it turns out, is the prince of the muglox world. He fled his home to avoid marrying Rirumu, his princess bride-to-be. Following closely behind him are Rirumu, Yashichi the bounty hunter, and a host of other muglox ranging from good to bad to downright nutty. This group of lovable troublemakers ensures that school life for Kaede and her friends will never be the same. "Mirumo de Pon!" won the 27th Kodansha Manga Award and the 49th Shogakukan Manga Award in the Children category in 2003. The series was published in English as "Mirmo Zibang!" by Singaporean publisher Chuang Yi.
