Ernest, her older brother, the supposedly heir to the marquis fell in love with a lady from neighboring kingdom, so no fight broke out. alicia and alforth gets rejected, no harem ending with alicia whatsoever. the final scene is with cyril inviting sophia to dance. you can imagine and picture the rest. over.

You 100% read this for the art and not the plot, but the art IS god tier.

I think this was an alright ending, mind you, a little rushed. Donald's end felt like a realization that none of the corrupt, behind-the-scenes shit really mattered at the end of the day. It can only be used to combat itself and make money, and outside of that utility, it will likely lead to the end of your life. Maybe some of those kids will continue on that path, but some have learned that the only part they truly cared about was comaraderie. I wouldn't go as far as to call it a happy ending, or even satisfying ending, it felt like something that would actually happen in real life. A kid in a gang dies, some kids change, some stay the same or get worse. The world keeps turning regardless. May as well try to learn from the experience.
