Candidate for Goddess is an exceptional manga featuring well-developed characters and stunning artwork. The narrative is profoundly layered, maintaining an air of mystery without ever becoming frustrating. Of course, it includes some common tropes like "I'm going to be the best there is!" but what shounen manga doesn't?
The development of character relationships unfolds naturally, ensuring nothing feels hurried despite the series spanning only five volumes. Truly, I find little to criticize here, aside from my disappointment that it had to end! ^_^
We already knew that Ali Jr. had great potential and might be stronger than Baki, but of course, the author really doesn't like having black characters shine in this series. But instead, they treated him like a joke and used him a punching bag for a racist reason.
