    Well, as a ruler and someone similar, in this case, a crown prince, if you stay quiet after others insult you, your loyal subjects will be angry and might cause trouble to the other sides as well. Ain flexes his royal authority to potentially shut his brother up. That does not work though.

    No, it's a trope in japan where a character is obsessed with fluffy animals. In this case, she doesn't differentiate between beastmen and beasts. Frankly, why would she when she has hung out with humanoid fairies that are the same way? So she pushes a lot of social boundaries with them lol
