This was a good story.

I think there were a few things that needed more expanding on, there was too much fate of the world but we saw very little of that world, things happened only in one city, but few stories can achieve the feel this one has.

Well, that's a better end(?) to the flashback than I was initially expecting. I was assuming that she was (at least partially) a synthesized demon rather than being the "totally real" Alex, which I figured would be why she wouldn't remember him. But this works well and gives a route for her to actually remember him with the Power of Friendship™.
