just looks like a regular hunting rifle that looks like it's mild enough to be legal in Japan with a precision scope. As an American I only know a little about Japanese gun laws but I think this is a result of a limit on the power (quality) of the gun since they only sell them for hunting but since he puts a quality scope on it since it's useful, to an American to looks like a mid quality gun with several add-ons and a top of the line sniper scope, but is actually just the limit to standardized Japanese hunting gun restrictions.
