They simplified the plot, added new scenes, or added new twists for the sake of Netflix fans and enjoyers. I don't mind the race or gender swapping from white characters to PoC or male characters to female/gay characters because it needs to be more diversified to make this audience not feel bored watching these white male people all the time.
Death Note, The Witcher, Cowboy Bebop, and the most recent adaptation, One Piece, are all good, imo. Idk, why are you so salty about these Netflix shows? If you don't like it, then don't watch it. Simple as that.
