For his art project, Mikuriya Jin carved a statue from a recently felled local sacred tree. As he prepares to take it to school, the tree's goddess, Nagi, awakens within the statue. Unaware of her tree's fate until now, Nagi realizes she must personally protect the surrounding area from impurities, a task previously handled by the sacred tree. This new responsibility compels her to enlist Jin's help, much to his dismay. Included one-shots: Volume 2: The Amazing Fairy Puniata Volume 4: Hildegard no Shiro Volume 5: Molly Volume 6: Croquis "Kannagi" had four volumes published in English as "Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens" by Bandai Entertainment from June 7, 2011, to April 10, 2012, before the publisher ceased operations. Additionally, it has been published in Italian by RW Edizioni under the GOEN imprint since November 28, 2015.
