Kain is a tale about a blue-eyed boy wandering through the countryside. He finds himself in a town dominated by "kidoushi". These "kidoushi" are individuals from the newly established country of Ren, equipped with a machine inside their bodies that grants them power equivalent to an entire army. The strength of a kidoushi is determined by the extent to which the gigai (the machine) occupies their body.
