This is a bad writing mistake from the author. The slime should just approach and stab him with a weapon during the disguise, not grow a long ass fucking tail and cut him open from far away, making the disguise and bait with controller completely pointless. It could have just killed the MC from behind (stab his heart, cut his head,...) when everyone is distracted, instead now it slice his stomach (non-fatal) when there's a legendary healer next to him, oh wow I wonder what would happen next.
