In the medieval town of Naudars, albino children are held in high regard and protected. Dorothea is one such child who has always dreamed of seeing the world beyond her sheltered life. When Naudars comes under attack, all able-bodied men stand ready to defend their home. However, Dorothea is determined to break tradition and join the military. Much like Joan of Arc, she faces the prejudices of those shocked by the idea of a young female warrior. This spirited, sword-wielding girl must defend herself against accusations of witchcraft while also defending the land she loves.

I'm sure that some Japanese boys (and creepy weebos) don't care about that, maybe even the majority. But the problem is that what kids see in media is reflected in real life. If we're teaching/showing young boys that it's okay to objectify/sexualize women in media, then they can apply the same practice in real life. I agree that most people want a character that reflects themselves, so in a shounen demographic, perhaps girls aren't the most important characters. But still, that doesn't make it okay to have them all be useless, clumsy, and/or a bubblehead.
