To be fair, things moving around the room, loss of focus, and distorted vision were the given symptoms I'm pretty sure. One was obviously vision and the other was a possible but not certain connection, being the moving stuff. Loss of focus is definitely something that can be caused by vision problems but probably not the first thing you think of. It could've been neurological or something, but he didn't seem to do his magic eye thing since that's disease limited iirc. Something in the eyes was a very real possibility that he probably should of at least thought of even a tiny bit though, even if not the first or suspected cause.

This manga infuriates me. It has moments and ideas that are incredible, but the overall execution is poor. There's a panel near the end of chapter 8 that genuinely shocked me and stopped me in my tracks as I was reading. It's shocking, and makes you wonder what on earth is happening in this world for this scene to have taken place. Unfortunately, the manga is way to eager to answer the question. There are more scenes that are well done emotionally, with excellent development and themes, but as it goes on it just feels more and more rushed, with the characters becoming one note parodies. The series brings up, but then neatly avoids complex moral dilemmas be refusing to actually engage with the subject matter in a meaningful way for more than one chapter or so. With the exact same story beats and themes, this series could be in my opinion on par with some of the best, but the author doesn't just drop the ball, they drop kick it off a cliff.
