Man what a toxic ass story. She got with the guy who knew her since she was a literal child and he was an adult? The first ML got with the chick who purposely played with his emotions and did it to countless others? Oh also the whole pseudo cheating with the older guy paying more attention to the first FML than his girlfriend. And said girlfriend was far more interesting a character, would've loved to observe her relationship with the pragmatic guy. Overall just a highly frustrating story.
Samurai 8 had some potential in the setting but it had so many awful aspects.

The whole samurai-princess dynamic really killed the story for me once it came into play and when the Mangaka tried to fix it it was already too late and the axe was coming. Sorry for the random Samurai 8 rant but I needed that
