Much better than expected. It uses the classic op teen unrecognized hero and academy tropes, handles them in a decent way, then branches off into a much more interesting direction.

A lot of revenge plots suffer from this. There is no way that this many evil people could feasibly exist. Some evil will always exist, but I mean at this point why not just nuke the planet? All of the evil in these plots has real world roots, but evil is more focused and less spread out in the real world. There is always good to counteract evil in our world, but in these stories there is no good, only evil and pseudo justice. I don't think it's justice or justifiable to take revenge in this way. He lowers himself to their level whenever he takes revenge. He should just kill them for all of their crimes, and let sleeping dogs lie. He'll never be truly happy, he's just living in a fantasy surrounded by people who aren't real, just twisted transmogrified versions of their original selves. If he wants to save the world, then he should do so, not just become the very thing he swore to destroy.
