yeah, there was a lot in this chapter that could've been avoided:

1: tinasha and als knew miralys saw them "kissing" but they somehow didn't think she would report directly to oscar about it? "did he see us?" no, not directly, but how could they possibly not know he would eventually find out?
2: oscar threatening to rape tinasha. that went too far for a prank, or in his words, just to startle her. especially binding her with that ring, which we'll get into later.
3: lack of communication. it really took oscar this long to say he wants to marry her because he loves her. miralys wouldn't even be here in the first place if he made it clear from the start that he's not with the witch out of necessity. which leads us to...
