This dark and intense drama unfolds in a boys' high school where Kujo rises to become the official leader of a gang. Kujo must continually defend his position by engaging in a perilous rooftop game with other boys who are eager to take his place. This manga has also been adapted into a film that has been showcased at various festivals around the world. Aoi Haru, published in English as Blue Spring by VIZ Media under the VIZ Signature imprint on November 24, 2004. The manga was adapted into a film in 2002 by director Toshiaki Toyoda and was released in Japan on June 29th of that year, under the same title.
