So I just finished Akuma na Eros and I must say, I truly enjoyed it! :D
Although there were some predictable parts, it kept me entertained, and I found the story heartwarming and funny.

In my view, the characters are likable and remain true to themselves throughout the narrative.

It's quite a short read, which I find refreshing. Many mangas drag on after their original plot concludes and suffer in quality. At no point does the pacing feel rushed or prolonged, and although I wish it were longer (because it's so good :P), I know it has the perfect length.

I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but it is definitely worth reading!

I can't say enough good things about this manga. I LOVED IT!!!

Romance, mysterious characters, a hot devil bad boy, and steamy love scenes that made my heart skip a beat.

The story is about a girl who falls for a popular guy at school. He's as pure as the first snow, so naturally, she doubts she can win him over on her own. She casts a spell to summon a devil to make her wish come true. But there's a price to be paid... and the devil doesn't share.

The art was stunning, showcasing true talent. The story was unique, and I've never rooted for the devil so hard in my life. The characters were fascinating, and I fell in love with each of them.

Nothing and no one are as they seem. Truth is in the eye of the beholder, and love transcends beyond the very gates of heaven and earth.

If you enjoy romance, the supernatural, bad boys, and don't mind a few steamy love scenes, then this manga is a Must Read!!!

    Enjoy!

Akuma na Eros is a must-read for any shojo fan, at least once in their lifetime.

    Story: 10/10

The story revolves around Miu, a girl who despises her childish looks and dreams of being with Shion, the most popular guy in school. She believes that a spell can make him fall for her, but instead, she summons a devil who promises to help her win Shion's heart in exchange for her virginity. The narrative shines with its humorous and quirky moments. The plot progresses smoothly, and the concept of the devil falling for a human is refreshingly original. It even touches on themes of abuse subtly, which adds depth. The only potential drawback is the inclusion of occult and Christian-related themes, which might bother some readers. However, if you can overlook this aspect, the story is masterfully crafted.

    Art: 9/10

The artwork is beautifully drawn. Characters are visually appealing, as expected from a manga featuring handsome boys and gorgeous girls. While the backgrounds are generally nice, they can be somewhat rough at times, making it difficult to discern details. Overall, the art is pleasing to the eye.

    Characters: 9/10

Miu is a strong character with a resilient spirit despite her occasional silliness. She isn't easily manipulated and actively engages with the sexual advances made by Akuma. Speaking of Akuma, he's portrayed uniquely compared to traditional depictions of the devil, with his charming and seductive ways making him surprisingly likable. His growing feelings for Miu add an intriguing twist. Shion embodies the typical angelic figure, striving to protect Miu from Akuma. He doesn't have much depth beyond that. Side characters like Marupasu, Akuma's assistant, provide comic relief and charm, though his appearances are limited. More about him is revealed in the bonus chapter. Serra, the other love rival, serves her role without much additional development. Nonetheless, the characters collectively form an engaging ensemble.

    Enjoyment: 10/10

This manga is perfect for fans of supernatural and romance fantasies. It has great potential as an anime adaptation, although that seems unlikely... HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH.

    Overall: 10/10

    Everyone should read this.

Note: Some cussing ahead, so for those who dislike that, don't read.

    = Story =
    - This is the story right here: A girl falls for Satan, who is sexually attracted to her. She gets too involved with him, leading an angel to try and rescue her from Satan's influence. That's it. The plot revolves around what happens to Miu because of her involvement with Satan. I really didn't enjoy it.
Yes, I did read ALL the chapters. I barely managed to get through those appalling chapters. So the story is just... just bad. I wish the mangaka had put more thought into this manga. The idea is quite nice, but how it played out throughout the story was absolutely dreadful! -

    = Art =
    - I've said this a lot, but I usually give art a 9 or 10. But I gave this one an 8. However, this is solely based on my preference and logic. Usually, I just go by common sense, but the mangaka's art style is quite similar to old-school manga, which isn't my cup of tea. Maybe it's because I'm used to modern manga styles, but I generally don't like these types of art. However, since I can't draw better, the score will remain at an 8. -

    = Character =
    - Comedy is not a genre in this manga, but I really laughed my fucking ass off while reading this. What the characters say and do are HILARIOUS. I'm not laughing at the characters themselves. This is basically what I laughed at:

    > The characters' mental states
    > Satan's cheesy lines (dramatized by the art)
    > Miu's stupidity
    > The amount of sex Miu and Satan have
    > The fact that Satan fucked Miu in front of ------- *spoiler*---------
    > The dramatized effects the art gives to every undramatic situation

I didn't care for the characters. Miu is literally one of those Shoujo heroines that can't do shit and just depends on that one guy (or guys) there doing whatever she wants. She's useless, and yet there are these people who pursue her! It's absurd. Satan says he loves her and shit, but honestly, he's just playing along for her body (even though there isn't much...)
Satan himself is also a boring character. I don't like him. I don't like any of the characters. I just read it because I could. So yeah... horrid.... just.... bad. -

    = Enjoyment/Overall =
    - Didn't enjoy this manga at all. Got a lot of good laughs, but I really, really feel disgust towards this manga. I really recommend it for the laugh, but if you don't like humor, don't even try to read this. Also, read this and yell "Satan" when he appears to save the day. It'll make you laugh harder. -

I absolutely adored this manga! It was the second one I ever read, and it has captured my heart forever.

The tale follows a girl who craves nothing more than love from the "Prince" at her school. Lacking in self-confidence, she turns to the Devil to fulfill her wish. However, there's a price for her desire, and she ends up getting far more than she bargained for.

This is a brilliant story filled with themes of love, lust, bad boys, the typical Prince Charming, and intense rivalry.

I highly recommend it to anyone. The artwork is stunning, the characters are beautifully crafted, and the love scenes are breathtaking. I have read this manga multiple times, and each time, it never fails to impress me.

    It’s 100% pure genius! A solid 10 out of 10 from me ;)

I rated this manga as "good" purely due to its intriguing concept. Otherwise, I'd categorize it as merely "fine," something to pass the time when you're bored and just want to read anything.

The overarching story idea is quite captivating. It starts with a young girl manipulated into making a deal with the devil to get her crush's attention. I won't elaborate on how the rest of the story unfolds because there's an element of surprise in its progression. Nonetheless, I appreciate the layers added to the original plot, which made the narrative interesting. The manga includes several biblical references, creating a romantic conflict between good and evil.

Having said that, the story has many shortcomings. Firstly, it lacks depth. The dialogue between characters is rather cheesy and, as some have noted, comical. The characters lack the complexity necessary for such a story to be epic. Everything feels basic and bland, so don't expect much. It's disappointing because the concept had the potential to be amazing, but it fell flat due to its simplicity and rushed nature.

The art style isn't bad at all. There weren't many issues here. It was easy to follow, and the panels were well-executed.

The characters are pretty straightforward: one villain, one hero, one naive girl, and a crow. There's not much more to say about them since they stick to their typical roles without any major twists.

In conclusion, while the story had significant potential, it wasn't executed very well. That said, it wasn't terrible either.

What do you get when you blend a significant amount of smut, seductive demons and angels, and a hormone-driven teenage virgin? You get 'Akuma na Eros' (ANE), a cautionary narrative illustrating why desperate, love-struck teenage girls should not have access to demon-summoning materials.

Mayu Shinjo's creations can be succinctly described as "schoolgirl smut," following a similar script: the teen female protagonist meets an attractive male who is drawn to her virginal innocence. Their "love story" consists of the guy essentially assaulting her repeatedly until she eventually succumbs and they engage in sex. This time, the storyline incorporates a supernatural twist, where Miu makes a pact with Satan himself to gain Shion-senpai's attention. Naturally, the manga revolves around the love triangle involving Miu, Satan, and Shion, and it’s clear from the outset how it will unfold.

Miu embodies the stereotype of the "pure, naive-to-the-point-of-stupidity shoujo heroine," which seems mandatory in Shinjo's works. Satan remains consistent throughout, almost always wearing a sleazy, confident macho grin. Shion comes across as the nice guy but ends up forgettably bland in comparison, even with the obligatory (and predictable) twist. There isn't much character development, unless you consider Miu giving in to Satan's seduction as "progress."

The artwork is genuinely good. While distinguishing Shinjo's characters relies mostly on their hairstyles, everyone looks suitable for a smutty shoujo tale. However, the necks of the male characters occasionally made me pause, and Shinjo can only depict her hot guys with angry squints.

ANE serves as a decent introduction to Shinjo and ranks among her best works. She doesn’t stretch the plot too thin, as seen in 'Haou Airen'; instead, it offers ample amounts of smut and cheese, plus a flimsy religious flavor that justifies drawing explicit scenes between a boring, love-obsessed high school girl and the Devil.

If you haven't read other Shinjo works, the recycled plots and characters won't bother you as much. You can't take it seriously due to all the clichés typical of brainless smutty shoujo genres. What can I say — it's the only Shinjo manga I tolerate.

I'm writing this review to bring some balance to the discussion. This manga isn't exactly what you'd call high quality, but it is undeniably hilarious and has a certain metal edge to it.

Manga serves as entertainment, and there are countless ways to enjoy it. With this one, if you find humor in poorly written dialogue, absurd character decisions, and youthful antics from supposedly immortal beings, you'll likely have a blast. The clichéd plot and stereotypical characters make for such amusing dialogues and scenarios that you won't be able to put it down until you finish reading. Then, chances are, you'll write a review just like this one.

As for the artwork, the less said about it, the better (though I must admit, the boys are cute).

In summary: You might have fun with it (as I did), but it could very well end up being a waste of your valuable time. Unless, of course, you're really into BDSM.

PS: If you do decide to read it, I challenge you not to shout "SATAN!" every time the main character does. It's oddly compelling.
