After graduating from high school, Tachibana and Otani finally confess their love for each other and start living together. However, their life as "newlyweds" is abruptly disrupted when they encounter an old high school classmate, Yuki. Otani has always been wary of the close bond between Yuki and Tachibana, and his suspicions might not be entirely unfounded. Are the feelings shared between Yuki and Tachibana merely a passing crush, or could there be something deeper? (Source: Juné)

The primary couple in this narrative, likely the main draw for many readers, is Tachibana and Ootani. Their relationship is marked by an odd possessiveness, a lack of trust, and difficulties in expressing their feelings to each other. This dynamic might not be ideal for those seeking a heartwarming tale about two boys navigating their emotions and smoothing out the rough patches in their relationship. Volume 1 doesn't offer that kind of story, and even if it did, these characters only feature prominently in the first four chapters before stepping back to allow three different couples to take center stage.

Of the three subsequent couples, two exhibit highly unhealthy dynamics. One relationship involves a sexual assault, while another revolves around a kidnapping plot, making the content potentially uncomfortable or triggering for some readers. These stories clearly delve into darker sexual fantasies, which isn't unusual for a BL manga labeled as "erotica."

Thankfully, Alfred and Shou provide a refreshing contrast with their wholesome relationship. Their story stands alone without requiring knowledge of the other narratives in the series, allowing it to be enjoyed independently or alongside Tachibana and Ootani's tale if preferred. They are supportive and gentle with each other, presenting a sweet and endearing dynamic in their introductory chapter.

Overall, Volume 1 reads like an anthology featuring four distinct couples. Volume 2 attempts to weave together more background on Tachibana and Ootani, linking them with Shou and Alfred to create a more cohesive storyline. The time jump from the prequel origin story to what seems like the present day was initially confusing, but the second volume proves to be a much more enjoyable experience than the first. Alfred receives significant character development, and the story concludes on a sweet note.

I had to revisit this manga to fully grasp the characters' backgrounds, but I'm glad I took the time. I find myself really connecting with Ootani's personality. It makes you reflect on yourself when you can relate so closely to the characters.
