    I was rooting for Riku from the start, although I think Chiaki would have been in an alright place no matter what happened; that's the charm and resilience of his character. In the middle Chiaki does start getting involved with their relationship, but it doesn't work out. He stays relevant as an integral part of their trio to the end.
