This plot gives a fresh twist to the forbidden love story of Romeo and Juliet.
It's July 7th, 1999 in Shanghai, where two gangs are battling for control. Only within the ceasefire zone do people live peacefully.
In a chance encounter, Xiaoxue, who belongs to the Toulon gang, and Dawu, from the Xianglongji gang, meet without knowing they are enemies. In the heat of the moment, Dawu invites Xiaoxue to a place he has access to, hoping Xiaoxue will join him, but is turned down.
With a simple kiss, Dawu leaves, unaware that they will meet again under very different circumstances.
