Miyamoto Musashi (1584 – 1645), born as Shinmen Takezo, set out on a quest to become the most formidable samurai after being exiled from his village at a very young age. Musashi hailed from a samurai family; his father was one of the most celebrated samurai in the country. A significant motivation for Musashi's drive to excel in swordsmanship stemmed from his desire to surpass his father, who had treated him harshly during his childhood due to Musashi's inability to rebel.
Musashi's sword skills were distinctive because of his unconventional movements and lack of adherence to traditional styles. This uniqueness was partly due to spending much of his time in the forest, where he was labeled as a demon child by his village because of his unruly and malevolent behavior.
