Yui Sonezaki, born on October 10, 1985, is the daughter of Souichiro Sonezaki. She is a first-year student at Toritsu Shinnet High School and an active member of the kendo club. Yui is typically a kind and gentle girl who cannot resist feeding any hungry animal she encounters, often bringing them home. Despite her generally mild demeanor, she can sometimes be short-tempered and emotionally fragile.
Her father runs a curry restaurant, but when the business starts to fail, he decides to leave and improve his culinary skills, leaving the restaurant under Yui's care. Even though her father has essentially abandoned her, Yui still loves him deeply and admires his curry cooking. When she meets Makito, they team up to save the struggling restaurant. Yui does everything in her power to assist Makito and comes to admire and respect his methods. It seems likely that she harbors romantic feelings for him.
