Youhei is a Jinki user and Rena's initial partner. Described as an optimistic and cheerful individual, Youhei had previously met Riku during their time at the hospital, forming a quick friendship. As the series begins, Youhei and Rena rescue Riku from his first encounter with Kanshus. His Jinki, resembling a short blade, was bestowed upon him by his teacher to protect him from injuries caused by Kanshus.

In a twist of irony, Youhei ends up passing his own Jinki to a wounded Riku. At his own request, he is beheaded by his old friend before fully transforming into a Kanshu.
