A high school sophomore, this young swordsman has relocated from his mountain home to the city to live with the Ikaruga family. He is an energetic individual with a deep passion for martial arts, especially swordsmanship. Raised in the mountains by his father, he lacks familiarity with modern Japanese customs and how to behave around girls. His sense of honor is evident in his use of the -dono honorific when addressing others. However, frequent misunderstandings lead to Ibuki often attacking him, believing he has acted inappropriately. Typically seen in a Japanese martial arts uniform with a wooden sword, he freeloads at the Ikaruga Dojo and studies Ukiha Kamikaze Swordplay (Soaring Wind, Divine Wind Style). He attends Yoku-Ryou Gakuen private school alongside Ibuki and Ayame, sharing a class with Ibuki and Washizu. Recently, he was compelled to join the Acting Club and initially paired with Ibuki for roles as the lead hero and heroine in a love-play. Ayame later took over Ibuki's role to grow closer to Yoichi.
