Yakkul is Shuna's loyal elk, much like Ashitaka's mount in Princess Mononoke. He shows unwavering devotion to Shuna and remains untamed except by the prince or Téa herself. Yakkul aids Téa in her efforts to earn a living when she and her sister are separated from Shuna.
