Won Hyo was a prominent sorcerer from Jushin and a former ally and friend to Munsu. Despite his demonic lineage, he ultimately turned away from the savagery and indiscriminate slaughter of humans that his kind engaged in, choosing instead to stand with Jushin during its conflict with the Kaidaten. Over time, Won Hyo grew to hate his monstrous demon form, opting to take on human guise using his magical abilities. Alongside Won Sul, after Jushin's downfall, he shifted his loyalty to Aji Tae, aiding him in cultivating the addictive Yang Gwi Bi plants.
While serving under Aji Tae, Won Hyo gradually lost the moral compass he once cherished, becoming as malevolent as the demons he had previously opposed. This transformation led to his inability to sustain his human appearance, forcing him to resort to consuming human souls through sacrifices to maintain his facade. Ultimately, he met his demise at the hands of Munsu and Bang Ja. In his final moments, Won Hyo expressed to General Munsu his hope that he would be remembered as a comrade who once fought alongside him, rather than the monster he had become.
