There is a possibility that Clear exerts control over Vino's mind and emotions through his powers, as evidenced by the glazed, almost vacant look in Vino's eyes. In the climactic battle between Clear and Zatch, Vino 'merged' with Clear's demonic spell form, even though he was terrified of it, and was altered by Clear to possess an infinite supply of heart energy. When Zatch's ultimate spell obliterated Clear's final crystal, the protective barrier around Vino disintegrated, leading to the burning of Clear's book. Kiyo swiftly cast a spell to shield the unconscious Vino from the vacuum of space, catching the baby in his arms. Following the confrontation, Vino was adopted by Dr. Riddles, who took him in as his son.
