Takeru Takemoto is the main character in this series. He appears to be a lazy and unmotivated teenager, but in reality, he is just uncertain about his place in the world. Takeru was the one who found and named Hikari in the first episode. He has the ability to transform into a powerful being with superstrength and sharp appendages. There is an apparent love interest between him and Hikari, as he often blushes and gets flustered when near her, and eventually, he admits that he likes her.
